It all began in 1999, when a Swedish traveler named Gunilla Petterson arrived at my parents' home after trekking through the Himalayas.
She wanted to experience real Nepali village life—and ended up staying with us not just for a few days, but for three unforgettable months.
She’s the one who planted the seed:
“Why don’t you share this experience with more people?”
That simple idea changed everything.
In 2008, we built a new, more comfortable home—designed for travelers, but filled with the same warm spirit of that first visit.
Since then, our homestay has been a place where people from around the world come to rest, connect, and feel at home.

$20.00 USD per night, per person (single room)
$18.00 USD per person, per night (based on 2 people sharing a double room)

Having a second home in Nepal is a dream come true — and it has become real thanks to all of you in the family and the wonderful people of Langol.
Being here for the second time has been truly special, and now I can only look forward to seeing you all again in September.
Unfortunately, September isn’t wedding season, so I guess there will be fewer parties... but I’m sure we’ll find ways to have fun, one way or another!
It’s definitely sad to leave and go back to Spain again — but soon I’ll start the countdown for my return in September.

Our 3rd visit — and my first time visiting Nepal with my wife.
We spent two wonderful weeks here, and honestly, it just feels like home at the Homestay with Babu and Bella.
We had an amazing 4-day, 3-night Hidden Nepal Trek with two lovely ladies from Holland — full of laughter, achievement, breathtaking views, and fantastic company. The trek was incredibly guided by Babu himself.
We also traveled to Pokhara, Australian Camp, and Chitwan — unforgettable places.
Special thanks to Babu’s brother Ram for taking such good care of us.
And what better way to end the trip than with a Nepali cooking class with Bella, finishing with our final meal: Dal Bhat — which we cooked together.
So many memories. So much love.
Nepal truly feels like home now.
We are lucky to have a Nepali family in our hearts.
